2017 Clinic will be held August 11-13 at Grizzly Creek Ranch near Portola, California.
August 11th we will have optional pre-clinic Golf Tournament and pre-clinic dinner at Plumas Pines Golf Course and Longboards restaurant.
Sign up for Pre-Clinic activities is not yet open. Details of the golf and dinner registration coming soon in early June, if you are interested in playing golf ($35), having dinner ($35), or both Friday night, please email Brian Dziminski (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Annual NIAA rules certification exam will be taken online. All returning officials must complete this online test prior to these clinic dates so that our Crew Chiefs are aware of your test results during the draft. An email will be distributed to all members when the online certification exam becomes available. Per NIAA and NNFOA policies, Officials must pass this certification exam before they can be assigned to any games.
The fee for this year’s clinic is $110 if paid by July 1, or $120 if paid after that date. This fee is in addition to your chapter and NIAA membership fees. There is a rookie discount for the clinic – Rookie clinic fee is $90. Clinic dues pay for our meeting space, catering, travel costs for our speakers, and material costs for our presentations. Your chapter dues pay for your rulebooks, study materials, and chapter administrative expenses, and your NIAA dues pay for NIAA insurance, background check and NIAA administrative expenses.
Clinic fees include lodging for Saturday night, August 12, there is an additional fee to stay Friday night August 11 ($20). There is no discounted rate for the clinic if you choose not to stay the night, because there is no difference to our rental rate for the facilities based on headcount. You are asked to confirm whether or not you will be staying so that bed assignments can be made. Lodging is in rustic style bunkhouses. If you have preferred roommates, you may indicate this in your room request; these will be filled as best as possible.
Please remember that attendance is mandatory at both days of the clinic for all returning officials unless prior board approval has been received. Information presented at our annual clinic is critical to the continued success of our association. Anyone who misses the annual clinic will be ineligible for Playoff assignments and will be required to sit out two weeks worth of game assignments (the weeks you sit will be selected by the Commissioner and your Crew Chief). Officials may petition the Board to attend an alternate Football clinic to satisfy their clinic requirement. Any such alternate clinic must be a high-school only clinic, no College clinics will be acceptable. Alternate clinics must be approved by the Board. It is up to you to do the research to find any such clinics and to obtain enough information about that clinic agenda for the Board to make a sound judgement on its suitability.
Sign up for Membership renewal and all Clinic activities is not yet open online. Online registration will go live in June.
