Please contact by email the person holding the study session, at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled date, to advise of your attendance.
The Northern Nevada Football Officials Association holds several study sessions prior to the start of the season to help our members to prepare for the preseason rules examination. It is required by the NIAA that every official pass a preseason rules exam. 70% is a minimum grade in order to work any games for the NNFOA; higher level grades are expected for Varsity level officials and especially for those officials chosen to work as Referees. In general, a varsity level official is expected to maintain annual grades of 85% or above; and Referees are expected to maintain annual grades at 90% and above.
Annual exams will be taken online via the National Federation’s online testing platform. Results of this test are passed on the the NNFOA Board and to the NIAA. Additionally, at the preseason clinic, a more comprehensive rules test will be conducted, which the Commissioner shall grade and review and will use in helping to determine the top officials in the organization for key seasonal games and post season assignments.
